About Me

I grew up in Medicine Hat and Redcliff, graduating from Medicine Hat High School in 1986.  I obtained my Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Alberta, and upon graduation moved back to Medicine Hat to begin articling at JMH&Co.  After obtaining my Chartered Professional Accounting designation in 1995, I moved to Calgary to work in public practice for two years and then worked in the banking industry in downtown Toronto for three years.

In 2000, I smartened up and moved back to Medicine Hat to become an associate with EBT Chartered Professional Accountants.  I became a partner at EBT in 2004, focusing my practice on small to medium sized owner managed businesses.  In 2016 I decided to leave public practice to help a client move his oilfield services company to North Dakota.  I decided to open my own CPA business as I missed the variety of work and clients that public accounting provides.

I enjoy giving back to the community.  I currently am a member of the Saamis Rotary club as well as volunteer at Blues at the Bow.  My past volunteer activities include:

  • 10 year involvement with the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat where I held the offices of President as well as Treasurer
  • Member of the board of directors of the Medicine Hat Little League
